Convivial Boar is proud to announce that Marrow & Nectar is celebrating its one year anniversary! (Don’t believe it, click here). And as part of our celebration, the Boar says “thank you” to his followers, farmers, tasters, sous chefs, fellow feasters, and his beautiful (albeit a bit persnickety) editor, Wife of Boar.
What better way to say thank you than through libation. And you know what that slight chill in the air signifies?
Its pear season!
Time for Wife of Boar’s favorite libation —a pear infused martini (affectionately known around the Boar’s house as the “Charlottini”).
Ingredients:
One part Pear Liquor
Two parts Pear Vodka
Three parts Pear Juice (or a bit more if you want to enjoy several)
One part Simple Syrup
A few splashes of Citrus Bitters
One part Almond Water (optional)
Lime wedges (to rim glass)
Sugar (to rim glass)
Pear slices (garnishment)
The Plan
This libation is best enjoyed in a frozen glass. So, before you start put your martini glasses in the freezer.
Mix the first six ingredients together in a shaker with ice and shake until well chilled.
Rub a cut lime wedge around the rim of the frozen glasses. Turn the glasses upside down on a plate covered with sugar. Press the glass down into the sugar and gently spin it around until the rim is coated with crusty sweetness.
Place the pear slices in the glasses –and pour the happy.
Cheers, my friend.
